How is the Lagree Method different from Pilates?
The Machine
The Lagree Method is performed on a spring loaded machine called the Megaformer™. Based on the design of a traditional Pilates Reformer, the Megaformer has straps, pockets, and handlebars that allow for perfect body placement, and added resistance for a more intense full body workout.
Traditional Pilates is performed on a Pilates Reformer, or various other pieces of equipment including the Cadillac, Chair, and Pilates Mat. The Pilates Reformer is designed to align, and support the body to target deeper, smaller muscles in order to improve flexibility, core strength, as well as sculpting and toning the body.
The Method
The Lagree Method is a high intensity, low impact, full body endurance workout which combines strength, endurance, cardio, and balance. Sometimes referred to as high intensity Pilates, Lagree utilizes slow movements to target, and fatigue muscle groups creating long, lean muscles, and a rock solid core. Many of the exercises are functional, involving more than one muscle group, and performed standing on the Megaformer™ which has straps, pockets, and bars to support the body, and provide extra resistance. If you’re looking for a fitness class that will push your limits, our Lagree Method classes are for you. Sweat, Burn, and Shake while strengthening your entire body.
Pilates developed by Joseph Pilates is a low impact, full body workout that uses deliberate, controlled movements to target core, and postural muscles. Pilates focuses on smaller muscles, and breathe to provide a workout that will sculpt, and tone, as well as improve flexibility. Don’t be fooled, our Pilates Reformer classes are an athletic fusion of traditional Pilates, and will make you sweat! If you’re looking for a Pilates workout that will strengthen, tone, and stretch the entire body, our Pilates Reformer Classic classes are for you.
